it's not like they will have to endure "salad days" and studio apartments.

she's the daughter of a u.s. president. whose father was a u.s. president. and all of them have obscene incestuous relationships with an industry that right now seems to be propping up our economy.

what happens when they need a job? doors mystically will open for them regardless of what they choose to do.

people need to understand that people like them get free lunches wherever they go.

i guess you could wish people like that "good luck" in the sense that they have luck enough not to get cancer (but then their medical needs will be taken care of by the best of the best in terms of medical service providers) or that they have good luck enough not to be decapitated in a horrific car wreck.

or maybe it's just one more meaningless sentiment.

3. With a father-in-law like George, yes.
Not to mention Babs as grandma-in-law. Emotionally stunted bunch, the lot of them. They're gonna need it.

5. Like marriage is such a hard thing that they need luck?
For some of us the good luck happens when we got the divorce.

:P

They'll have a comfortable (maybe I should say luxurious?) life from here on out.

Fuck them.

12. You know, it is customary to wish newlyweds luck...
No matter who they are, or who their relatives are...

Just sayin'...

13. I couldn't agree more
I don't wish any harm to them, but I'm not going to wish them luck, either. They have all the luck they'll ever need.

15. I don't know them, so I don't care
If we wished every fucking set of newlyweds in the US 'good luck,' this forum would be even more packed with meaningless crap than it already is. Just because this a high-profile and exceptionally fugly set of newlyweds, I see no reason to acknowledge their existence just because they went through an expensive ritual.

16. I think we should wish my daughter and her fiancee good luck instead.
She is a teacher who could not find a teaching job here in Michigan after she graduated. She finally took a low paying job teaching kids with learning disabilities and vision problems at a small learning center. She has student loans still to pay off for the five years of college that she had to have to become a teacher. Her fiancee is an assistant with the school district helping handicapped kids get on and off the bus. It does not pay too much. He is trying to become a Detroit Police Officer so he can make a little more money although we worry about him being killed on the job in a city that has become more violent because of the economy and job losses. They managed to scrape up enough money to buy one of our numerous foreclosed homes here in Michigan for $68,000.00 and the whole family has been painting and fixing it up with them for the past two months so they could actually live in it. They both have car payments. The price of gas and food has gone up around here so much that I think they will have to eat at our house most days just to make ends meet. They are going to have to get married at the Justice of the Peace or something because we are all struggling so bad we could never afford to even give them a small wedding without taking out a loan. She says, "That's alright, Mom. I really did not want a big wedding anyway." Yeah sure. Good luck Jenna Bush. Tell your Dad that we thank him so much for improving our quality of life for the past seven years. Better yet..Tell him I said to fuck off.
