We interrupt teh Lounge for a very fucking important announcement

We just signed a lease!!!

After 2 months of looking, fighting with my mom over where we were going to live, putting up with my sister's insane upstairs neighbor who makes noise to aggravate us day and night, and getting rejected by landlord after landlord for not having references or any kind of past in Montreal, we FINALLY SIGNED A LEASE!

We already have the keys, and moving day is Tuesday. We finally get our entire lives out of storage, and the cats out of boarding (except Imhotep, who's already with us).

Excuse me while I take five.

It's a two bedroom, one bath apartment on the fourth floor of a 6-story building in the NDG borough. Plenty of space for kittehs, musical instruments, computer gear, all of our furniture, and it has a *killer* kitchen. The building is on a hill, and we have free access to four roof terraces, and the view is sensational.

Now all I have to do is find a job so my dad's not on the hook for the rent for the next year. Yikes.

4. I'd settle for a good night's sleep

at this point - can't wait to spend a night in my own bed. My sister's bed is small and phenomenally uncomfortable, so the s.o.'s been sleeping on an air mattress on the floor since we got here.

:loveya: So far so good - the weather's been very nice, and it was really cool to see the city wake up from a long snowy winter and go through an actual spring. Everybody plants flowers, so there's a riot of blooms anywhere you look. I can't remember the last time I smelled lilac - and now all I have to do is take a deep breath.
