Do you have one? Do you use it? I just started using the one that came built into my laptop; it's really interesting so far, although I feel a little weird sometimes, like I'm constantly "on display", lol.

1. I thought about getting one.

I'm pretty sure I could use my digital camera as one... if I had a cable for it. :P Unfortunately it might be cheaper to buy a cheap webcam than to hunt down the right cable. Because apparently Kodak doesn't want people to be able to get cables for their cameras.

I wonder what kind of cord it would require? We have a Kodak digital camera too, although we don't have it at home right now. Still...I'll have to look into that. :)

And the only places online I've found 'em at less than 15 bucks (not counting shipping.) are questionable eBay sellers selling out of Hong Kong.

Seriously, I've seen prices anywhere from 15 to 50 dollars for this little cable. Fifty fucking dollars for some wires with a USB outlet on one end and the special Kodak camera one on the other. I'm guessing they cost so damn much because Kodak doesn't make extras. They make juuuuust enough for the cameras they sell. So if you get one used, or if you lose the cable that came with it... you're shit outta luck.

And since I've seen webcams for 20 bucks in stores, and shipping is probably over 5 bucks these days with the prices going up... it just makes more sense to buy a webcam than the cable. :P

*edit* Oh, wait... I just found it discounted! Woohoo. :\ 12.94 after shipping. Yeah, right. Like I'm gonna pay almost a third of what I paid for the camera in the first place just for the damn cable. :P
