Where the HELL are my keys?

I've been trying to get out of the house to run errands for the last two hours and I cannot find them ANYWHERE.

:think: I know I had to have them to drive home yesterday - Guess it's time to see if I threw them in the trash again.


It's times like this that I really really miss the ATA forum.

trash can (ditto)
front door

9. I can empathize with your plight.

I think I spend about 5% of my waking life looking for something I had in my hand a half hour ago. I've even caught myself wondering what the hell it was I was looking for while in the middle of the search! Maddening.

I've done the root through the trash thing too. I recommend dumping it all in the bathtub. Easy clean-up and confidence that it definitely is or isn't in there. A memory course might be a good idea too.

Did you check the refrigerator?

10. Have you tried reinacting the crime...?

Sometimes when I really frackin' can't find something I'll just go back to the last point when I know I had it and try walking through it again. Often it helps.

Like if you know you stopped by the mail box and used your keys to open the front door, put some fake mail in your hands and a placebo set of keys, walk through your front door again and try to match the previous day as closely as possible. See if you can figure out what point you set the keys down and then look around that area, floors, under stuff, etc...

Usually in the front left pocket. I'm wearing the same pants today and checked around where they were overnight to see if the keys fell out there. So far, nothing. I'm thinking couch cushion at this point.
