21. Really?
Perfectly healthy people die of trauma all the time and an autopsy would tell you this was a healthy person. Trauma induced death does not preclude the health of the individual prior to the trauma which is what morbidity and mortality statistics are going to tell you.

2. So smoke...
celery may reduce inflammation in the brain, and therefore make people less likely to progress in their dementia as quickly.

4. scientists
have long thought that nicotine and tobacco steels the mind, calms the nerves, and helps you to focus. I wish my apartment allowed smoking, because I wish many times to light up whilst I am working on my novella.

7. That's why I never quit the patch
Nicotine is as harmless as Caffeine.

It's the delivery method that kills you.

10. how long have you been on it for?
That's fascinating... I never considered that someone would do that, but it makes sense, I guess. Isn't it horribly expensive?

24. About 3 years. It's not too bad if you go generic
About half the price of smoking in California.

And I only use the 7mg patch.

It helps to change where you put it too, so you don't risk skin cancer.

11. I didn't think this information was that new...
I remember there being studies years ago that said nicotine helped short-term memory and concentration. I'm sure that's how I became addicted to it in college. There were certain classes that, especially if I was really tired, I would have a cigarette before going to, because it just gave me that little edge that I needed to focus. I don't notice any of that now, 10+ years on, though. Now I just get really angry and jumpy if I don't smoke for a few hours, which suck :( it's part of why I absolutely hate flying.

25. Buy some nicotine gum for those times that you can't smoke it
really does help.

I have some nicotine gum that is about 5 years old that I still use.

16. Uh, yeah, nicotine DOES help you concentrate. That's part of why so many people
with ADD smoke (and I'm one of them).

But the downside, in the long run, beats the upside. That, I'll admit, and will use that information to quit some day.

Then I got dumb and started up again. Hopefully it won't take so long to get smart enough this time.
