Angels One Five. One of the best forgotten films.

From 1952. A "Battle of Britain" WWII movie about the badly outnumbered British Air force.

You could write this movie without seeing it - there are many like it. But this one is so unexpectedly effecting that it will make you forget that you've seen it all before.

It's British and is neck-deep in stiff-upper-lippedness. Also, the various British dialects are in full natural flower - "subtitles on" is not a bad idea for 'Merkins.

Despite all this, it works magic on nearly anyone who sees it. Why? Because it is entirely character driven with most of WWII taking place off-screen.

Warning: most of the women are regarded like very brave cows. But the lower-class men are allowed only 1 baby-step up the ladder of dignity from that.

Upper-class male twits rule. Still..... all these faults and you may never quite forget this one.
