Did you feel the earth shudder & shift on its axis?
I had a pleasant DMV experience this morning.. walked in no appointment.. had a friendly clerk..fast service.. in and oout in under an hour :)

Either I was in a trance, or the earth shifted into a parallel universe, and no one told me ...

In all my years of dealiing with DMVs (43 years), I have only had 1 or 2 experiences that were less painful than a hammer to the frontal lobe :)

3. Another good DMV story: When we moved to SoCal in 1990 from out of state...
...we went to the DMV to register the car, and of course, the registration fees for an out of state car in California were astronomical. Huge. Multihundreds of dollars.

The DMV clerk must have seen the blood drain from my face because she said:

"This car was a gift, wasn't it?"
Me (as dense as a neutron star): "....."
Her: "This car was a gift, wasn't it?"
Me: "Um....yes?"
Her: "In that case the fee is only (something much less than multihundreds of dollars)."
Me: "Thank you"
Her: "Now you go home and tell your wife to buy some GOOD groceries with that money."

Good things CAN happen at the DMV. :)
