how to avoid olympic spoilers
a: do not turn the tv on until you plan to watch the event
b: do not turn the radio on until after you watch
c: do not get on the net until after you watch
d: do not go into a public place where people who may have already watched are as they are bound to talk about it

otherwise you're bound to come across spoilers, and perhaps that is why i don't understand why people get so pissed about olympic spoilers when they could be easily avoided. i always avoid spoilers in my topic titles as a courtesy to others when it comes to things like this, but i also think that if someone were honestly a "you spoiled it for me you asshole" type of olympic watcher then they shouldn't be on the net if they don't want it spoiled.

just my two cents though. i guess i just felt the need to defend the east coasters(even though i'm CST :P )

1. You forgot e. go live in a cave
It is very hard to avoid spoilers but how hard is it not to give it away in the thread title? No offense intended, but avoiding tv, radio, the internet, and public places is nearly impossible. I have managed to navigate the net without hitting any spoilers, except here on DU.

2. not impossible
except maybe avoiding public places at time.

it's very simple.. a few hours without tv, radio, or internet.

hell, i'm a net addict who grew up with it, but i can do it.

my point is this.. if you know there are going to be spoilers here on DU, then why come here when you don't want something to be spoiled? why not wait until after you watch it?

i totally understand being upset with it getting spoiled, but i would think that with the spoilers for things in the past on DU, people would know better than to come here if they want to avoid olympic spoilers.
