OK, I give the fuck up on yet another Great Thing "the Internet" promised us.

I've been trying to watch the TV show "Jericho," kindly provided via "streaming video" on the CBS website.

Memo to CBS executives: Dudes: "Streaming" video does NOT mean twenty seconds of video, followed by ten seconds of frozen video, and on and on the same way for 40 minutes.

If you can't deliver on your promises, could you at least be HONEST? If your servers are not up to the task of delivering the content, DON'T PROMISE TO DELIVER THAT CONTENT, OK?

I'll spend the six bucks to rent the DVDs of the past seasons, and not mind doing so, OK? But do NOT lie to me and say "hey, you can watch the shows on a feed from our website," when you can NOT deliver on that promise, please. That's kind of a sleazy thing to do.

Just be honest.

(Though I know that's too much to ask for.)

4. No, not my ISP, as much as I hate THOSE particlular fuckheads. It's a case of overpromising

by CBS; I can watch any of the content on hulu.com, for example, without those annoying freezes.

And clicking the "pause button" to let the content buffer for a few minutes has NO effect whatsoever.

I experienced the same thing when trying to watch "CSI: Las Vegas."

CBS shows online with no problem.

Makes me wonder if there's not a problem with that particular show or something.
