Anybody having a good dinner?
Not me. Morningstar Farms Corn Dogs was about all I could get up the energy for, as I ponder all that must be done to prepare for the possibility of that betch Gustav....

I need another drink....

1. I made a salad with bibb lettuce and baby spinach
I made a creamy spinach salad dressing, sliced up some tomatoes out of my garden, added some green onions and some sauteed chicken breasts.

It was really good.

Are you in Gustav's path?

4. According to the latest predictions, yes...
but I'm inland. It'll be an inconvenience more than dangerous.

I have a few people from NOLA booked to stay with us, if need be. 2 Chefs, actually- I'll make them cook for their lodging and do better than fake corn dogs! LOL

T-Bone steaks tenderized with crushed fresh black pepper, grilled with a Bordeaux wine reduction, baked potato, and fresh asparagus grilled with olive oil and toasted sesame seed.

but it's seldom that i actually get one the way I order it (which is usually medium-rare). So I stopped and just cook them myself, and eat chicken when I go out!

If I hadn't made the baba ahead of time it would have been takeout because it's really hot here today.

32. There is a cafe in my neighborhood that specializes in
feeding people with dietary restrictions. The owner can't eat corn or gluten. They have a special vegetarian/vegan menu, and I've seen them make special meals on the spot for people. Great place.

I had a vegan Burrito with wild grain rice and edemame in it. :9

We're hanging out at their place so we can watch the Convention with other people willing to clap and cheer in the livingroom, just like us. :-)

Ben did the cooking: Oven-fried chicken (no cornflakes *L*), roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes, and glazed carrots. :9
