Bengals' WR Chad Johnson now (legally changes name to) Ocho Cinco

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals say No. 85 is officially Ocho Cinco.

The NFL team said Thursday that they will refer to the receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson by his new legal name, Chad Ocho Cinco, in all club business. That includes the back of his jersey for Sunday's season opener at Baltimore.

Johnson told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he wants to be called by his new name, but declined to talk about it any further.

Johnson, a Miami native, used "ocho cinco" in 2006 as part of the NFL's Hispanic Heritage month. It means "eight five" in Spanish.

He changed his name last month in Broward County, Fla.

i saw a story earlier about how many more new bengals jerseys will get sold, and if he works it right, it can be his very own unique identifiable branding icon...let's be honest: we as americans like personalities and characters in sports, and something like this does set him apart from the other 50 "johnsons" in the league...this can be worked into nfl promotions, commercial endorsements, shoe/clothing/apparel, etc

It's because of fucks like him that even dumber fucks like Sam Horn come up with even dumber celebrations (the cell phone, which took the asshole close to a week to dig out from the end zone pads).

I remember thinking that outlawing Gastineau's sack dance was just the product of no-fun stiffs who had nothing better to do. Now I wish they'd pass some more rules to eliminate this celebration shit.
