My cat Sophia, who never leaves the kitchen,
is lying on top of the radiator in the living room. Seriously, Sophia never leaves the kitchen except to use the litterbox and then runs right back to the kitchen. She's done this in all three houses she's lived in with me. Picks one room and never leaves it. This seems to make her feel safe, so I let her be. She has a kitty cubby in a corner of the kitchen, and two windows to look out, so it's not a bad life. And it's her choice.

But, tonight, she's decided to join us here in the living room. She's on top of the radiator, on a blanket, all stretched out, sleeping. It's nice to have her with us.

Maybe I should turn on the heat!

1. Awww...
she needs to be near her human. How long have you had her? They're quirky creatures of habit, aren't they?

2. She's been with me for 5 years. She was one of my Humane Society fosters,
but she wasn't well socialized when it was time for me to move. I was afraid they'd decide she was unadoptable, and euthanize her. So, I adopted her. She's VERY nervous and skiddish, which is why I just give her her space. If she wants to stay in the kitchen, she can stay in the kitchen. She's become much more outgoing, and is now very playful, which she hasn't been until recently. She's 10 years old, we think she was abused in her first home. She was an owner relinquishment.

When she feels affectionate, though, she's just real sweet. She's a special girl.
