Husband just went to ER.. need vibes

My BIL called me to say hubby was at his house and violently ill with some sort of stomach bug. They got him over to the ER where he is being checked out now. Hopefully it's just a virus and he only needs an IV for fluids or something. (He's incredibly phobic about hospitals and doctors' offices, so he must really be hurting if he agreed to go to the ER. :()

15. I'll tell you a story.

A friend of mines husband went to the ER thinking he was having a heart attack on a Saturday morning. She was called and the doctor was asking all kinds of questions. Eventually they started asking about medications. He admitted to taking one of his wifes "allergy meds" that morning. Turns out all the family meds were in one place. Husband, wife, dog who had recently passed. Dog had a stroke a year before, and husband had actually taken one of the dogs pills, which they had forgotten to throw away....
He was just starting to feel better as they figured this out, but they were pretty scared that morning.

42. My brother just dealt with kidney stones

He had the same symptoms that your husband is experiencing. Once he was on the pain meds, he was better, but he actually wound up having surgery to have one of the stones removed. Of course, it's quite possible Mr. GPV won't need surgery, my best wishes for him, and for you.

24. UPDATE: they put him on an IV and gave him a CAT scan because they

are suspecting a kidney stone.

28. kidney stone pain is severe and it can make you vomit. Poor guy. I hope

it is a stone and not something else. They hurt like hell but once you pass them you feel fine.

It hit my youngest son like a ton of bricks, and he's still not well after a year.

Tough to diagnose, and even tougher if they pump him full of antibiotics before confirming the cause.
