Something funny your kitty does?
Our kitty cracks me up. It's hilarious the way that she licks her little paw then wipes the back of her head. It's little tongue sticking out is funny as hell(slurp, slurp, slurp), as are her little paws(look like little tiny catcher's mitts). Also funny, the way that she squints in bright sunlight, gives her that noble look. But I guess all kittys do that stuff. One thing she does that might be unique is she prefers to drink water from leaves or from the sidewalk or deck after I've done some watering, not particularly from her water bowl. Loony cat.

1. My kitty won't drink out of a bowl, he fancies himself as a person and will only
drink out of a glass like I do. He's also afraid of laundry.

His skin crawls every time I sort my laundry and he sees piles of clothes on the floor. It's hilarious.

2. Mine grooms me when I come home from work
She'll sit on my lap and stretch up to lick the hair up by my hairline--she usually starts in the middle and then works her way to either side. I think she thinks I'm just a big cat who walks around on his hind legs and wears clothes, and that's her way of welcoming me home.

She also doesn't drink out of a bowl, either. I have to keep a glass of water by the bathroom sink for her, instead.

7. My partner's cat "grooms" me in much the same way.
Occasionally when we're sitting on the couch watching TV or whatever, he will perch on the back of the couch and lick the back of my head. You're right - I think they just see us as big cats.

22. When I put katnip on the floor for my Monster he starts licking it up. I pretend
I want some of it and he'll cover as much of it as he can with his paws spead out as if to say: "all mine".

5. Sunflower lies down with his legs straight back behind him
We call that maneuver "the full Sunny." When he only stretches one leg back it's "the half Sunny," and one leg back and the other pointing sideways is "the 3/4 Sunny." His tail will stand up and curl to the left. He does this in various locations around the house, but especially seems to like to stretch out like this on the coffee table in the game room when we're watching tennis - he likes to watch tennis. Here's a picture:

Morrissey also has lots of funny behaviors. He fetches paper wads and brings them back for me to throw repeatedly. He loves it when we get out of the shower and grabs our hands and feet and rubs his head and rolls around in ecstasy. He rolls the ball around in a cat ring, then looks at me curiously, then comes over and jumps on the chair arm and wants to be petted, then goes back and does it again. It's very cute.

Monty is our oldest (13), and he's pretty calm and quiet. He does stalk us for milk at night (we always drink milk before retiring) and walks all over us to get to the glass, and he gets just a few drops so he won't barf. He also bites my feet gently when I'm reading in bed.

6. My cat bites me, and then immediately licks me.
If we're playing, she'll give my hand a little "love nibble" (she never bites too hard), and then she'll lick my hand. It's kind of like she's saying "Oooooh, I'm a vicious predator and I'm gonna get you! No wait, I'm just playing!" Weird.

Also, she refuses to drink water out of her bowl and will only drink fresh water running out of the faucet in the bathroom.

8. Mine does that too ...

... the biting/licking thing.

Sometimes he'll get a little carried away if I'm playing hard back with him, and he'll bite a little too hard. If I say "ouch" or something, he'll stop, stare at me, then back off and lick my hand or arm for quite some time.

11. My cat "brushes" my hair
Seriously when Sophie wants attention she rakes her claws through my hair..which I don't mind except for the time or two she's gotten the scalp....
Also, she has a thing about pushing doors closed. I have to prop doors open or leave them shut or she will lock herself in...

12. Both Simba and Mouse will come over to my husband when he sits
down in the living room recliner, stand on their back feet, and reach over the arm of the recliner to put one paw up to touch hubby's arm. They want to be petted!

Recently, when Simba gets there first, Mouse will come over and do the same thing.

She'll walk over and pat my arm until I pay attention to her. Sometimes she'll make little "Meowr?" sounds when she does it if she really wants to be petted.

The cat has sat on the edge of the pool and dipped the tip of her tail in the water... Crazy stuff. She doesn't want to get any wetter than that, but for some reason likes to do this.

20. She just goes mental.
She'll attack pictures on the wall, as if they were taunting her.

She jumped 5 feet straight up to rip one of my mother's day drawings off the wall, the crazy thing.

Also, she opens one drawer, but only one. The one that we *used to* hide her cat toys in. She's not stupid, that's for sure.

If he comes to me to be petted or fed, and I don't do it immediately, or in the correct manner, he gives me this little chirpy whine and "love-bites" me on the hands or arms.

30. Grandkitty likes to play touch the tail/butt.
Not quite like the post that was around here(don't tuch the but) Kitty runs up his cat tree and flips over on his side, hanging his heiny over the edge of the tree shelf. If you don't touch his tail or his butt, he'll keep flipping around until you do. Then once you touch either his tail or backside, he'll reach out to swat you and then turns around, stands on his hind feet and rips the tree with his claws and flips back on his side again to dare you again. It's his nightly ritual before he goes to bed. Once he's done, he'll turn into loaf cat and wait for his good night kiss on his nose.

I have no idea how it started..all I know is I fill in when my granddaughter isn't here. If we don't play the game, all we hear is kitty jumping and running for hours.

and goes behind the TV to see where the meercats or chimps go. His favorite show is "Escape to Chimp Eden". He cries during commercials on that show.

32. Putty comes when I whistle. And every other day or so he likes to...
... go back to our old neighborhood, which
isn't really a problem because it's only
four blocks over. So, every other day or so
I drive over there, park and whistle, and
he comes to the opened door of the van and
climbs in. On the way back to the new place he
props himself up with his paws on the door
and checks out the passing scenery.
After I turn in to our lane, he eases
himself out onto the hood and rides there like
some kind of Jack Lord from Hawaii 5-0 until I
pull into the carport. Then he jumps off
and heads for the food. He's a great cat.

33. We have Crazy Time every night.
She loves to be chased in circles around my little apartment.

Also, I have this Indian tapestry thing I use as a rug and she Loves. It. Her favorite thing is to burrow under it until she just looks like a squirming lump. Then she likes to be pounced on and mauled. Kitty Shiatsu. And she can grab onto me and bite and rabbit-kick and won't hurt me as much. She makes the most amazing noises. High-pitched happy squeaks. Snorts like a little pig.

35. Kava has to have coffee in the morning with me
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 12:42 AM by Angel
To him coffee is his catnip. He won't touch catnip. While I am making my coffee I have to put a pinch of the ground coffee on the counter for him. After he is done eating it he lays down where it was.Another favorite of his is Hawaiian bread. He will rip the package open to get some of it.

He is also a bleach freak. If he even sees me grabbing the bottle he gets excited. Anywhere I have cleaned with it you can find him laying. I always make sure I rinse it really good.

The picture below is after his morning coffee.
