A housefly is currently testing my veganity
I'm normally not bothered by them, but this one seems to just know that I won't swat him. At least, that I don't want to anyway. The damn thing has landed on me 5 or 6 times. And it's not just this, oh no.

My half rottie half gawd knows what dog is in full "protection" mode, and he's out to kill said fly. By kill, I mean eat. So, every 3 minutes I hear jingle-thump jingle-thump jingle-thump *chomp* crash. Maybe I'll take his dog collar/tags off. At least that will kill the jingle.

1. So that whole thing applies to bugs too?
Insects don't have enough brain power for self-awareness, let alone for suffering.

My wife tries to shoo them outside because she does not want to kill them. She's a vegetarian, but in her case I think it has more to do with not wanting unfound dead flies in the house or marks on the wall.

4. To me it does, to an extent.
If bugs are parasites or otherwise harmful (think fleas, termites, etc) then no. They can die. Or, if there's an infestation that would be detrimental to living somewhere (like if this were 1,000 flies, they'd get a bug bomb).

6. I'd lend you an insectivous cat (they are excellent at catching flies)
But umm I think the amount of dogs down there is a deal breaker.....(they growl at hearing dogs outside barking...);)

7. Just wait until it flies by the door, then let it outside.
