Ladies and Gentlemen - The Tampa Bay Rays
No longer a joke, they advance tonight to the ALCS with their victory over the White Sox. The story of the season, and perhaps the biggest story since the Amazing Mets. Well, to equal the 69 Mets, they'll have to win it all. But still, what a story!

2. Go Rays!
Okay, so they're my third favorite team, behind the Orioles and Marlins. But I liked them even back when they stunk to high heavens, just because they represented the Sunshine State and I love all my Florida teams (well, actually Florida pro teams--I don't care much one way or another about the Florida college teams, sorry Gators, Noles or Canes).

Joe Maddon has to be one of the coolest managers I've ever seen. He's willing to take risks, which usually work out well for the Rays, and it's obvious that his players love him.
