its immaterial what Michelle would do. to me how cindy reacted doesnt matter. maybe she is in a weirdly abusive relationship with him. either way its not HER fault, her husband called her a cunt. very often i find people say, she would never stand for this, putting an abusive relationship as the fault of one who is being abused.

you dont know how michelle would have reacted. none of us do. very strong women can be tricked into abusive relationships. michelle's apparant strength isnt the reason barack isnt insulting to her publicly. he probably just respects women.

- which was to say nothing and hang her head in humiliation - indicates all the more that she probably IS in an abusive relationship, because women in a healthy relationship would not experience (much less tolerate) that kind of verbal abuse. I did NOT make ANY suggestion whatsoever that Cindy is to blame for McCain's shitty behavior, and I would never do so.

And I think I do have a pretty good idea of how Michelle would react to the same situation, given my observations of her both on her own and while interacting with Barack. I AM entitled to my opinion and I will not apologize for it.

This is me pointing out that one situation suggests an abusive relationship whereas an opposite situation would suggest a healthier relationship.

I mean yes it's bad for people to lie but this whole "he's really a Muslim" thing is more disturbing to me because it implies if he was a Muslim he would be unfit just because of his religion. I know the reality is that a Muslim is extremely unlikely to get elected President (although probably more likely than an atheist) but it still reveals a prejudiced that should be condemned first - then the lie can be condemned also.
