We got a new stove!
The best part: It's in the kitchen! :bounce:

We no longer have to cook out on the back porch like people from Wasilla! :bounce:

1. As a former appliance repairman
I'm going to have to ask for your make and model, price paid, and then make comment on your choice.

11. Looks like a decent model
Gas models are usually easier to work on and cheaper to repair.

12. Cool!
Yeah, our last stove was okay until the oven door fell off.

It was something like 300 to get it fixed, and something like 600 to get a new stove.

Not a really tough decision there.

8. Did you repair washing machines?
I love my old washing machine, a GE WWA8800R (with a filter basket that rests on the agitator post) we bought in 1993, but I only had to use it about once a week a lot of those years, so it hasn't been abused It went "clunk"...kaput.

10. Though I'm not sure what you're asking
I would assume that your transmission or motor decided to call it a day. If it's the motor, they're usually quite easy to replace. If it's the transmission, forget about it. It's not worth the hassle.

The first time Obama does something REALLY appalling as president I'll change it back.

5. We all have to make sacrifices for the cause.

Still, I can't help wondering if Obama would like the brocolli, too!
