Plumbing question - posted here for more views.
I just finished re-plumbing the entire drain for my bathroom sink, from the plunger to the wall. No leaks (fingers crossed).

So now, my shower is dripping. It is a single handle, and it has a cartridge faucet. It was dripping badly last year, so I replaced the seats and springs. This worked great until now.

So my question is this...I'm either going to have to replace the seats and springs again, or replace the cartridge. Do seats and springs go bad in only a year? Is there a reliable way to tell if the cartridge is bad without going through a process of elimination?

Thanks.

1. ok
Springs will generally last a long time, and seats even longer. Neoprene washers may only last a short time if any debris gets in there, otherwise they can go for a few years. Cartridges will last a long time unless debris gets in there and fouls them up. It's trial and error - repair it and test it.

2. Thanks Steven...
My fixtures are constantly getting gunked up with mineral deposits because I have very hard water. I should probably invest in a softener.

Instead of trying to clean everything out with Lime Away and replacing washers, etc., I just buy cheap ass bathroom sink faucets and replace them myself every few years.

The shower faucet is a high end Delta...think I will just try the seats and springs again next weekend, and then go for the cartridge if that doesn't work. These cartridges cost about $75 if memory serves me.
