1. She stole "The Notorious Betty Page" with a minor role.

2. She stole a lot of movies
Mystic Pizza comes to mind - I think she was better in that small role than Julia Roberts was in ANY role

3. Not a "crush" --- but love, love, love her

Wonderful actress. It can be so difficult to be an unconventional-looking beauty in Hollywood. Sometimes I think if she had come along 10 years later, she would have had Hilary Swank's career.

8. Yes - yes she was
Part tragic, part vindictive, part lost

Beautifully complex role that she fleshed out perfectly

7. I watched her doing a scene from "Starting Out in the Evening"
an indy film based on a book written by my brother.

She is quite beautiful and talented.

Ever since Mystic Pizza.

And wasn't she awesome in Better Off Dead (I think), singing songs about her ex-boyfriend endlessly.

10. She was funny - which proves she can do comedy as well as drama
Six Feet Under really solidified her in my book though...

18. She was part of the ensemble in "The Imposters."
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 10:23 PM by CBHagman
She was basically straight man to all the outrageous characters on board the ship -- played by the likes of Campbell Scott, Oliver Platt, Stanley Tucci, many others -- but it was a pleasure to see her do comedy again.

She was also wonderful in Starting Out in the Evening.

23. Not "Better off Dead," but "Say Anything."
Songs like "Joe Lies"

Joe lies, Joe lies, Joe lies,
when he cries.
He
likes girls
with names
like "Ashley"

But that'll never be me,
no, that'll never be me,
no, no, never, never,
don't you even think it!
