Rar! I live!
... okay, so I've been sans internet since Thursday. Not because I didn't have the money to pay my bill. But because I was physically unable to pay my bill. Why is that?

Well, because somebody at Time Warner and/or Roadrunner decided that it would be a good idea to replace the simple "Pay your bill" section of their website with a new one that doesn't %(*&ing work. I have the money in my account. I'd love to pay my bill. But I can't right now. :banghead:

Oh, and I went to traffic court today. First time I've ever had to. I was hoping to get to at least my late 20s without getting a speeding ticket... and of course I get one 8 days before my 27th birthday. D'oh. I got it down to a non-speeding charge that put fewer points on my license and cost less. It was either that, or fight it and risk losing a LOT more money... and even though I had a pretty good defense, I'm not going to gamble with what I don't have to lose.

Anyhow, I'm at the local library right now. Hopefully my angry message to Time Warner/Roadrunner will get through to someone (although I keep getting error messages when I try to send them a message, so I'm thinking their entire site is borked), if not, I don't know how the (*&% I'm gonna get online in the near future other than when I'm on campus.

3. Call customer service...
you'll almost certainly get a recording or one of those speech-recog computers...smash the keys on the phone (or yell profanities) and you'll get an operator. Inform the operator nicely and calmly that you'd love to pay your bill but since you can't you think you'll just cancel your service. Not only will you get a human being who is very willing to help you pay your bill very quickly, you might get some nicely-comped shite for your aggravation. I haven't had a phone bill for 3 months just to keep me from canceling my DSL.

Unfortunately the customer service number they gave me goes straight to an answering machine. So button mashing won't help. And they haven't called me back even though they called me a week ago, and I called them back the next day and asked them to call me back.

At the very least I'm going to complain enough that any late or reconnection charges will get dropped. I ain't gonna pay for their screwup.
