Losing your wallet is a big pain in the ass
And by "losing", I mean "having some douchebag steal your coat along with the wallet and keys in the pockets".

Call the bank. Learn that someone bought $130 worth of stuff at Wal-Mart.

Put block on card.

Call bank back next morning. Cancel ATM card.

Go to bank. Fill out affidavit of fraudulent activity.

Go to Division of Motor Vehicles. Get replacement license.

Discover that replacement license looks like it was made by the town nut on a 1970s copier.

Thank God that I am not planning on travelling to New Orleans or Jacksonville this Christmas.

Next up: Get new keys for house, car, parent's house, etc made up.

Get new library card.

1. I lost my wallet once...
Once!! And that is all it took for me to be vigilant about my wallet. My ex used to give me a hard time because I am always patting my ass to make sure my wallet is there..LOL

2. don't you mean change the locks?
If the person who stole your coat with your wallet and keys reads your license then he or she can just use the keys they have to start your car or enter your home because they now know your address.

3. I outwitted them!
Well, sort of.

My license has the wrong address on it. We moved down the street a couple of years ago, but I was too lazy to bother with updating my license with the Infernal Abyss that is the DMV.

So, there's probably a pair of lowlifes a block and a half away, bitching about why this key won't open the damn door...

7. Damn.
:(

I am very sorry. I hope they nail that bastard to a wall somehow. x(

I hope you don't get stuck for the $130, and I hope you don't get any other nasty surprises.
