1. George Dzunda and Chris Noth
They were the first set of cops during the first season. They were great guys. I wrote for the show that year. Michael Moriarty, who played the assistant DA, was a totally kneejerk leftie Democrat. He was sensational, and he got screwed, ultimately.

2. Logan and Briscoe.
Mike Logan is incredible. Tough, smart, just a great cop. Lenny, I loved for so many reasons, most of them related to the fact that he was played by Jerry Orbach.

Now, by kneejerk, leftie Democrat, you meant Moriarty's character, Ben Stone, right? Moriarty himself is a far-right deluded whacko...

3. Maybe today that's what he's become...
He's been in the bottle for years, but, back then, he was a true blue Democrat.

I never worked with Jerry Orbach, but people I know who did just loved him.

4. Logan and Briscoe. It's not even close.
However, I'm really enjoying the current team, Lupo and Bernard; the one with his whaddaya-want-from-me weariness, and the other with his detached amusement.

8. before lennie
there was....

max greevey - georga dzunda
and
phil cerreta - paul sorvino

both partnered with logan
both got shot... at least phil survived.

i'm liking lupo and bernard so far this season.... best line so far "you expect me to ride in a car with you after two bowls of that stuff?" bernard on lupo's love of small town chili (season 19, ep05)
