I just heard incidental music in 11/8 in an episode of "Dora The Explorer".
I thought I was hearing things as first, but after really listening for a few seconds, I heard the 3+3+3+2 pattern. Very unexpected.

1. I was just talking about that with my son
Well, not really. As far as I know, 11/8 was a month ago, and that's all I can tell you.

Nifty observation, though.

2. Pretty unexpected for most music, except for few artitsts.
Genesis, Sting, and composer Gustav Holst have my favorite weird time signatures.

3. You sure it wasn't written in seperate measures?
I could see a regular changover every four measures to make a particular line fit.

5. Fairly certain, yes.
Maybe I'll find the name of the person(s) who writes the music for the show and e-mail them to ask if I'm right. :)

6. According to IMDB.com you have four options.
Billy Straus (33 episodes, 2000-2004)
Steve Sandberg (32 episodes, 2000-2004)
Josh Sitron (31 episodes, 2000-2004)
Jed Becker (15 episodes, 2003-2008)

:)

7. Was it "Whippin' Post"? Or perhaps Don Ellis' "Upstart" in 3 2/3 quarter time?

9. Wow. COOL! Weirdest I've ever understood is 5/4.
I doubt I could do 11/8. Wow.
