1. hehehe
I did crack mine once. I was doing a back-hand-spring when my brother's friend threw a baseball at me (I know, we were lethal kids though). I lost my train of thought and somehow landed on my rear on the concrete. Hurt like hell.

2. I thought maybe your tailbone would be hurting you...not so much your ass
didn't you fall on your ass? I've fell on my tailbone and my tailbone hurt like hell, but my ass was just fine...then again, my ass is always just-fine.

5. A month after eating it on the pavement
It's close enough to my ass for government work.

Sitting and standing up are NO FUN.

6. All joking aside I hurt my tailbone badly once
it was a job I had many years ago working in a retirement home kitchen. Housekeeping staff had just got done mopping the hallway floor and they were just getting around to putting up the "Caution, slippery surface" sign up. Well, I slipped and landed square on my tailbone. Exquisite pain....exquisite is the best word. It fucks up the rest of your body, too...sorry it happened

No matter how lazy you are about raking, keep the path from the house to the car clear of slippery leaves.

Oh, and if it's not your ass, how do you think they definitively diagnose the broken tailbone?

Yes, they TUTCH THE BUT. :scared:

8. OOOh, yeah, I grew up in a split-level house
and jumping from the mid-level 'landing' down the 5 stairs to the ground floor was a fun way to go down the stairs when I was a kid. Then, the day came when I had grown tall enough that my leap caused me to bump the top of my head on the beam supporting the second floor, stunning me enough that I landed on my butt on the edge of the bare wood stair. I think I was both laughing and crying while rubbing my head and coccyx!

11. I did that once.
You aren't comfortable in any position for a couple of months and there's nothing you can do about it since they don't 'put your ass in a sling'.

12. Oh man, you have my total sympathy--make that empathy
Check this: When I was pregnant with MG Jr. I decided to try going through the labor and birth with no meds. I did it, too. Then the little phker decided to come through the birth canal with his arm over his head. (He still sleeps that way most of the time.) Next thing you know--CRACK. Sounded like a gunshot. That was my tailbone.

The next few months were pure hell--a newborn, no sleep, and an aching butt. Plus I had to go back to work after only six weeks because of my workplace's policy on punishing people who happen to get pregnant before working there a full year. Yes, I carried a donut to sit on in the office and the car. I was beyond caring about embarrassment. x(

14. Also, beware of those round snow discs
I went down a hill on one (in the snow), and did an unexpected "jump" of a natural ramp on the hill -- came down straight on my tailbone. I thought I was paralyzed. THAT HURT!!
