Poll question: Jerry Clower or Dane Cook?
A copycat, and to settle an argument in another thread.

4. He was on "America's Greatest Chefs."
He wore a Viking helmet. I think.

6. I don't know who Jerry Clower is
but I find it hard to believe that he'd be more annoying than Dane Cook.

7. I am the proud owner of a personally autographed photo of Clower
he is in the tradition of the southern teller of tall tales.
Dane Cook is in the tradition of the incredibly lame fratboy

9. I used to have several of his autographs.
Lost them long ago, along with Dolly Parton's, Conway Twitty's, Jim Ed Brown's, and Helen Cornelius's. :)

10. Clower didn't tell funny stories...
he told stories funny.

He may have been a bit Hee-Haw, but his style was hard to resist.

19. According to Wiki, Marcel Ledbetter is an actual person!
I never knew that. In fact, the whole Ledbetter clan, from Uncle Versie on down, was/is real. Marcel was Jerry's best friend.

I loved me some Jerry Clower. Funny without ever being off-color.

12. I am surprised at how many don't know Clower.
Maybe I am familiar because he is from my state. But I grew up knowing who he was. He wasn't my kinda comedian, but his comedy is sure better than Cook's.

14. Dane who?
Oh that talentless hack who had to have slept his way into show biz? Clower has Cook beat by a mile. Some of his jokes too forever to tell but his sense of humor and delivery were enjoyable to listen to. I believe I've still got one of his vinyl albums in my collection.
