7. I use it as a "potential tombstone" list!
Seriously. If I want to keep an eye on someone, I buddy list them.

It's a lot easier than trying to pull up their posts and click on their profile. Believe me, my "buddy list" is not a desirable place to be. It's been 9 out of 10 so far.

5. I've asked that before and never got an answer.
As far as I can tell, it's about the same as writing your would-be buddies' names on a notecard--you have a list, but it doesn't affect anything that I know of.

6. It's dangerous to do certain things without a DU buddy: ...
scuba diving, rock climbing, freeper goading, a few others.

You cannot add this user to your buddy list because this user is already in your list.

20. Some people use it to gang up on a poster they disagree
with on a particular issue. In fact, that's usually how it works- as a means of ganging up on someone.
