All the conspiracy threads have convinced me otherwise. The conspiracy nuts on the left are every bit as crazy (and wrong) as the ones on the right. Big Pharma and the FDA are not hiding the cure for cancer or AIDS or whatever else.

I also think that the US should not have any official agency dedicated to complimentary and alternative (or bullshit by another name). Currently there are not one but two such offices within NIH and CDC (I think but am not sure) that cost about $250 million. Sure, one purports to "study" CAM scientifically but it is really just a sop to the alternative medicine freaks out there.

There are very few voices of reason on DU in these areas. I know from experience that trying to convince these people is like beating my head against the wall. It seems no matter how much evidence there is contrary to their position, they will maintain the nonsense to their dying breath. That is so much like right-wingers' belief that Obama is a Muslim or other such nonsense. No matter what evidence you present, it doesn't matter. They will not be convinced.
