Muzak is bankrupt!
This is not an artistic review. It's economic news.

1. But it can double as an artistic review.

2. I'd like to get to the point where..
I don't know if I'm $100 million in debt of $500 million in debt.

"In a court filing, the company listed its total debt at $100 million to $500 million...."

3. Years too late.
I worked at a place that blasted that noise at us drones. I thought the Geneva Convention prohibited torture - give me waterboarding any day. Though at times they left the closet open that contained the Muzak box. Oops, I seemed to have knocked the volume down to nothing accidently several times. About a week would pass before some mid-management nepot would turn it up again.

Great song too, Mongoloid... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2tZqXWa7no (a live performance, not the original or, far worse, that horrid MIDI version you linked to! )

6. If we bail them out, there must be strings attached.
And I don't mean Mantovani, either.

Or perhaps they should be required to play nothing but the Portsmouth Sinfonia :P

8. A lot of grunge musicians in Seattle in the 1980s worked for Muzak
True story. Guys from Mudhoney, Soundgarden, and several other grunge bands all had day jobs installing Muzak. It paid their bills and left them time to pursue their music careers.

If not for Muzak, the Seattle Sound may not have existed.
