I saw a school bus get hit by a pickup truck this morning.

No kids were on the bus.

I was three cars back from the intersection, in the left lane of three plus a right-turn-only lane. The light was green and, amazingly, people had left the intersection clear as traffic backed up on the other side.

On the opposite side of the intersection, a bus waited to turn left. When the light turned yellow, the intersection was still clear so the bus turned.

As he began his turn, out of the corner of my eye I saw a car flying down the right-turn-only lane to try to make it through the light. I said "he's gonna hit -- " and he did. It was a maroon Dodge pickup, and he hit the front of the bus where the tire is.

You should've seen the bus driver gesticulating. Boy, was he pissed! I would've been, too.
