1. Maybe this doesn't qualify....
but I'm a big sucker for "The Robe".

Maybe because it isn't fixated on the torture of Christ, but on the good
effect he has on one man.

Also, I haven't seen the recent release The Gospel of John yet, but it seems to be well regarded.
