Lord knows I do. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, for example? Love it. But I haven't sat all the way through the battle of Helm's Deep since the DVDs came out and I don't have to. (It takes up about a page and a half in the book. It's like, 17 hours of the movie version).

(I also skip the parts in the 3rd movie you'd expect an intense arachnophobe to skip. But that's neither here nor there in this copycat-thread-with-a-point).

1. My dear Withywindle!
I watch those parts. I consider them part and parcel of the entire movie...

I have been known to cover my eyes, however!

2. Aw, CaliforniaPeggy, I've missed you!

I have to admit, I'm not sensitive enough to need to cover my eyes. I just find them BORING. Once I know who dies and who wins, the interest in watching vanishes to zero.

3. Ah, I misread you!
I just assumed that those scenes scared or bothered you! Boring never entered my silly mind!

Good to see you tonight!

4. Manly hack slash! Manly shoot! Manly heroic dying groan!
Yes, yes, I understand. I feel the characters' pain. (Half an hour later.) I get the point. War is hell, unless you're a stunt double or employed in makeup, prosthetics, models, and sound-effects. Can we get back to the PLOT now?

I'm waiting for my sleepytime tea to finish brewing. My landlord's coming over bright and early to look at the terrifying leaks in my apartment.

6. Thanks, sweetie!
When it rains, it rains...indoors and out.

This past weekend, I had to run to the dollar store to buy more towels. All the ones I had were soaked on the windowsills. I also put down a couple of my large soup bowls to catch the runoff from the towels, and I watched them get filled three times per hour.

Victorian building, and I know the water drips down through every apt. (I'm in the 3rd floor of a 4-storey building). My landlord is a fairly decent one overall, but he pissed me off for grousing over the few loops of carpet my cat has yanked up. Nowhere NEAR as bad as the months-old damp and mold over by the windows, honey.

7. I love them. If they are well done that is.
Incredibly fun to watch.

I love car chases and 'splody things too. :hi:

8. If I am watching the entire movie ...
As already stated here, they are an important aspect of the movie ... however, ;) depending on how important, I may choose to not view the movie at all ~ ergo, no need for ff! ;) And yes, that is an avoidance tactic! :)
