Do you Hulu?
Got rid of cable a while back, mostly for financial reasons. When I still want to watch some stuff, I go to Hulu or a similar site. I can watch what I want, when I want, for the price of an internet connection, and it's legal.

I really didn't know all the stuff the site offers-I thought it was just lame Network shows. It's also stuff like:

The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
The Simpsons
King of the Hill
MadTV

and too many others to mention.

Plus, full episodes of classic shows like:

The Bob Newhart Show (set in Chicago)
Alf
Married With Children
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Alfred Hitchcock Presents

Not to mention bizarre shows like 'Gaki' (a Japanese game show) or 'Happy Tree Friends' (a cartoon about cute animals with a violent streak).

Between this and other sites, the MSNBC site for Rachel, and my cheapest Netflix account (that also lets me watch five hours online a month), I really don't need cable. I've rearranged my workspace so that I can watch this stuff comfortably and have a 21 inch monitor. It looks as good as my TV did in most cases.

5. The Hulu player is awesome
It works on Windows, OS X and Linux and the image quality is just fine. I freaking love Hulu. All three seasons of Strangers With Candy. Wheee!

11. Yeah, I was surprised by the image quality.
I thought it was going to be a only a tiny little box that shows blurred, jerky video. You can get full screen and many of the shows, like the Daily Show, come with options for standard resolution or high resolution. The high resolution looks great, although even standard looks fine.

7. I watch it pretty frequently
I don't have cable either, so it's very convenient for me.

I just recently discovered that they have a whole slew of old NewsRadio episodes on there!

12. Fancast is another good one.
For more serious shows, documentaries and such, I like SnagFilms. Tons of good, interesting stuff; like this documentary on female suicide bombers from National Geographic with Lisa Ling:
