I am sick of funerals. Sick to fucking death.
Sick, sick, sick!

I guess I'll go to another one in the near future.

Did I mention I'm sick about it?

That is all.

(And I'm sick to death about it.)

9. Isn't that guy in that video the one that had a suicide cult?
Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 11:02 PM by Lil Missy
He cut his balls off and they all committed suicide when some comet or meteor crossed earth? I can't think of his name right now.

This is not blowing any sunshine up my ass.

10. Yes, that was the Heaven's Gate cult, I do believe.
I just thought you'd like the nirvana part ;)
EBN is a favorite mashup group. I can always find their "Psychoactive Drugs" video if you'd like that better?

Their souls transended to the mother ship inside the comet. Lucky stiffs.

I thought it was stupid. How do people fall for such crap?

I like 70' and 80's stuff. I'm old, and you probably are too young.

;)

But I've always liked/loved electronic, thanks to Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Synergy, Walter/Wendy Carlos, Tomita, ELP and the like :D

There's some cool old and new music on somafm.com if you care to have a listen :)

19. Must have been something I said.
Okay.

She's dying, and doesn't want phone calls. I found this out in a birthday card. This one really hurts.

So I guess I'll write her a letter. I'll respect her wishes and not call her. I did talk to my dad last night. I sure do love him. He didn't know about it either.

22. I'm sorry -- sometimes they all seem to come at once, don't they?
Mr. Ogneopasno's grandma went to 16 funerals in one year -- including those of her very close cousin, her father and her husband, who died suddenly at 45. This was more than 30 years ago, and I don't think she ever recovered.

Hope you're doing OK.

24. A childhood freind's mom just died. I was really close to them two decades ago. I dreamt last
night that there were flies coming off a dead goldfish (that was blue in color) in her clothing. And I wanted to catch all the flies and clean up the dead goldfish without her finding out. Also I was helping her move.

25. I've had weird dreams too. Like, the last one was
a friend of mine took me a couple hours away from home. In my car.

I wanted to go home for the longest time. My brother's showed up in my dream, and got my car keys.

I think I'd feel safer in the hands of the Mafia.

28. I think her mother was the bowl the fish was no longer in. And the fish was
the child my friend's mom would allow to grow up. The flys were the decay by not growing. I'm sure that family has worked through all their issues regarding each other. Obviously I have not. But yeah I was being protective and trying to help her move on and grieve. Which is telling because I was not in contact with them and will not be. So I did my part in a dream instead of in reality.

30. You should try living in my school district right now.
http://www.freep.com/article/20090318/NEWS04/903180407/1006/news/Families+remember+happy++friendly+teens

My kids are both off today because of all
the funerals....

The crash happened at the end of my street,
and the school has been basically non-functional
since.

I have two in the high school, and my 9th
grader is not doing well.

32. OMG, what an awful story. I did read the link.
Young deaths seem the most senseless. And 4 of them, I'm sure that hurts and entire community. And the school members. Like your 9th grader.

I am so really very sorry.

36. I'm concerned a little about the "Crucible" -like behavior
...of the younger-grade girls here.

They are buying t-shirts with pictures
of the different children, and many
can't make it through the hallway
without bursting into tears.

The last funeral is today, so I
hope that they stop trying to outdo
each other in the grief department.

They have started to accuse each
other of grandstanding...

31. My sympathies Lil Missy

I went through a period several years ago where it seemed I was going to a funeral every 6 months or so. Parents, uncles, aunts, long-standing family friends.

*sigh*

They are all gone now.

Cousins remain of course, but we aren't as close as we once were.

33. I've been to too many. 3 younger brothers, and my son.
Grandpa was an especially painful one, since he raised me. Then there were the aunts, no uncles yet.

And now my step mother, who was more of a mother to me than my real one. And dad won't be too far behind.

I'm just sick.

And I mean SICK!

34. Oh my, so much loss. I am so sorry.
Hugs for you.

When I had my recent surgery and didn't know whether the tumor was benign or malignant, I started to realize that death was certainly going to happen at some point. I was talking to my aunt, and I found out that she is not going to have a funeral when she dies, but she has planned a concert. When my uncle dies, he has a memorial cocktail party planned.

It made me wonder what I would like to happen when I die...maybe a cookout of some sort.
