1. Um..... uh....
yeah.

If they're gonna hide in the trees, they're playing hardball - so I'll play, too. ;)

3. It depends on how far away I am,
I usually wait a mile or so before I'll flash the lights. But at the same time, I generally don't keep doing it for miles on end either.

But I agree, if they're going to hide, then I'll let them know.

9. I don't think it is against the law here. I really am not sure though.
I wouldn't do it in front of a cop.

I actually don't think I have ever done it. It has helped me before though when someone warned me.

7. Yep, sure do.
Actually, flashing your lights at someone around here usually means "Slow down and pay extra attention: there's something that could cause trouble ahead." We use it for cops, sure, but also for tree limbs in the road, accidents, kids playing too close to the street, animals in the road, etc.

8. I've been chased down and yelled at for doing that
and I still do it, unless I can see that someone coming the other way is really going fast. Those people deserve it.

13. I was wondering where the cops were this morning when
Edited on Thu Mar-19-09 10:28 AM by Shell Beau
that idiot flew by me going at least 80. It was in a 50 zone and a huge curve. Almost caused a wreck. He deserved a ticket. But it will be my heavy footed husband going 5 over to get the ticket. Always is.

10. There does not seem to be a need for that here.
Either the freeway is just a parking lot, or the CHP seems to ignore people unless they are going 100 mph.

12. I used to, but now I don't, because the cops are usually setting up speed traps where I don't want
people speeding.

15. Haven't done it in a long time....
Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I even saw a cop running radar around here. They're making so much coin on the stupid red light cameras, they probably don't even care anymore...

18. I do, but I wait until I'm far enough away that the cop can't see me.
I'm under the impression that flashing your lights is illegal in PA, but I'm not positive.

23. Ordinarily, yes.
But, if I see someone driving like a douche then I figure they can find the cop on their own.

26. I only recently even heard of anybody doing that.
Nobody does it out here. Then again, considering how people drive out here speeding tickets are surprisingly rare. You have to be making a pretty good effort to get one.

27. Depends on where I am and if I can see any cops in front of me.
I drive with my lights on, so any cop behind me can't tell if I flash my brights.

29. Usually no. If someone is driving wild enough to piss off a cop, they've already pissed me off.
But I will warn of a speed trap if it seems ridiculous. Williamson County cops out here are notoriously evil, and set up traps to take advantage of speed limit flukes that were probably set up just to trap people. Them I have no love for.

30. Too many people around here drive with their high beams on 24/7.
They'd only get the FOR GOD'S SAKE TURN DOWN YOUR FUCKING HIGH BEAMS! message, not the HEY PAL, THERE'S A COP UP THERE message.

It is to pat the top of your helmet. On mountain roads participation levels are very high.
