I am actually starting to like it.

Somehow, I feel this is not normal.

1. 99 ... BAM!
I don't like it myself, but if you're cool with it, more power to ya.

Maybe some of it will rub off on me. I'm going under the knife in about a month, and I do NOT want general anasthaesia. I don't think they'll give me a general for a tendon graft, though (blew out my ankle).

3. I love the feeling, as brief as it is, just before going out...
it is complete relaxation. And, the Anesthesiologists now knows how to give me just the right amount of anti-nausea meds... so none of that.

It's also some of the best sleep I get!

7. I'm so glad I don't get nausea from it any longer...
once I explained how easily it can happen to me with anesthesia they corrected that problem.

6. Slightly related: When I was having panic attacks, I found that one thing that got me through them
was the knowledge that once it was over, I would get some of the best sleep of my life. Seriously, sleeping after a panic attack was just heaven. I don't miss the attacks, and wouldn't want them back, but that sleep...it was something.

8. Interesting
I never have slept well after anxiety (and, yes, I've had a panic attack or two). But each individual is different, I know.

I consider it a vacation! ;-) Plus I have been known to come home from day surgery and placidly fold laundry or other tedious tasks and I don't mind at all. I feel kind of pleasantly Stepford.

11. Will you be driving at the time?
If not, then what's the problem? Hell, if it's a big-time procedure, you'd be crazy to want to stay awake for it!

15. It may not be 'normal', but it's vastly better than what I imagine the normal
approach to medicinal procedures actually is - a tense, frightened, imagine-the-worst, white-nuckle ride to hypertension and dirty underwear. (At least, that's my approach - and I'm pretty sure I'm normal.)

If you can have a procedure happily and get some incidental pleasure out of it, I think that rocks!

(However, I suspect that Agent Mike has already reported your drug-loving-ass to the DEA... :P)
