Poll question: Would you change who you are based on how others see you?
Or would you make any changes, if needed, based totally on your own perception?

1. maybe, that's an interesting question
I might make adjustments, it's good sometimes to get an outside-self reality check!

2. I can't answer your poll!
It's equally 1 & 2 for me. If someone perceives me in a way that I don't perceive myself it may be that I am projecting something negative that I am not aware of. Someone else's observation of this could make me have a realization and I would make an attempt to fix it. As for self-reflection and growing as a result - it's an important part of living as far as I'm concerned.

3. My dear MrScorpio...
I would have chosen your third option, but I can't because I'm not perfect.

But I would not change to suit someone else.

I would change if I saw a need to inside me.

:hi:

consciously and subconsciously.

6. I do it all the time.
When a cop notices me and stares at his clipboard too long, I immediately go home and switch wigs and facial hair, and change my clothing. I ain't going down again, not again, not cause some lame flatfoot makes me again, dammit.

Aside from that, I make changes, if I can, and if I feel I need to, based on my observations and on others. If my boss tells me I need to do something differently, for instance, I'll try. Depends on whether we are talking about superficial changes, fine tuning, or ideological ground-shifts. The latter I don't do unless something external shocks the hell out of me.

Other than that, I need sleep, and can make no further sense of the questions. :)

7. "Once you're REAL, you can't ever be ugly again, except to people who don't understand."
So, no.

I might be wierd & confused 18 different ways, but I'm very REAL.
I can't go back to caring what other people think. I WON'T go back.
There's really nothing back there that I miss very much.

15. Yup.
Some very powerful shit disguised as a children's book.
Gotta love it.

Oftentimes, a speck of dust will fly RIGHT into my eye
just as I get to that "Once you're real" line, knowhutImean?

So, how's things down your way? Good, I hope.

8. I think you do both. And then sometimes you are a certain way depending on who you are with. I am
quiet but get giddy around someone talkative because I have conduction aphasia and don't have a good verbal memory. Someone who is actively listening to me speak is reminding me where I am. So I get talkative. And am perhaps less reflective that I am when I am quiet and thinking for myself. But I think most people are less reflective when they are talking fast.

When I'm talking to someone who isn't an active listener I can sometimes get going for a bit. Then I need a rest. I also can make no sense at times.

I'm not being two people. I am the same person inside both ways. Though he perception of me would differ.

Plus now I am on meds/drugs that take a part of my personality away so I'm less bubbly even when I do bubble like a brook.

12. Aren't we really talking about my *perception* of how others percieve me?
So it's still my perception, even if I think it's others'.

Otherwise, I would do my part to improve based upon pertinent criteria.
