I was recording a concert and there was no room in the lighting booth or backstage for my gear. The only place available was a catwalk above the stage, so I lugged everything, including a huge Ampex tape deck (yes this was years ago) up a vertical steel ladder to the catwalk. Halfway up there was a sign.

"You have to be insane to be up here".
