Okay, after much reading and talking to a couple of tech types I know,
I decided on anti-virus software. Comodo. Yeah, not AVG, not Avast (which I couldn't legally download again for free, since I have it on another 'puter). I like that it has a firewall with it, have been told it isn't a resource hog, frequent updates, etc. The professional reviewer types whined about it, but regular people reviews were good. I have a parishioner who does IT for the four credit unions in town and he said he loads their paid version whenever he sets up a new 'puter for anyone, and has never had a problem.

I guess tomorrow will be the test! If I get Conficker, we'll know!

Thanks for all your suggestions!
