Things that look picturesque and quaint, but AREN'T!1 (gardening edition)

Had seen the watering cans in story books and such but had never used one until a couple of years ago, and there was NOTHING charming about it!1 It was freaking heavy (filled with water)!1

Then there were those pruning scissors or trimmers, whatever they're called: Besides being cumbersome (sometimes the handles hit the stomach if you know what I mean, and accordian players might) and heavy, they leave some cuttings tangled in the hedges. But nothing brings you to a standing STOP like hitting a thicker branch not to be cut through!1

The long-handled loppers, the ones with a small cutter and LONG torqued handles are better, but ONE twig at a time!1 ONE at a time!1

1. Then there were country French looking rooster ceramic mugs
at the local grocery store, hand-painted, blah. kept being drawn to them but passed them by, until I finally bit. Then a little let down, not much, when, under the sticker was "Made in China."

These are pics from the net. Not worth the time to photograph them, upload them into Photobucket, blah.
