There are days I shouldn't get out of bed without training wheels.
I was already running a bit late this morning, so was hurrying around, getting ready. Last thing I was going to do before heading out the door was pour coffee into my travel mug. I did that, and promptly knocked it over (before I put the lid on it). It went all over the stove, all over the counter, and onto the floor.

So, instead of rushing out the door, I'm sopping up coffee. In the meantime, the dog is rolling her eyes.

Just call me Grace. :eyes:

1. Hi SeattleGirl!
:hi:

My cats have learned to stay far away from me when I'm on my feet. I'm unstable when I walk short distances. And, when I'm standing I often lose my balance and have to take quick steps to stay upright. If the cats are nearby they're likely to get stepped on.

So they stay a safe distance away and watch. Plus spills and other disasters are just a matter of time around here. :)

Other than being a bit clumsy this morning, how are you? :loveya:

3. Hi Thom!
You know, I can dance with no problem, but swear to gawd, I can trip on air when I'm trying to walk.

And knocking over that coffee mug -- I outdid myself on that one!

Other than that, I'm just fine. Working like a madwoman to pull off a miracle at the office (I'm hoping I still have a bit of fairy dust around somewhere!).

How are YOU doing? :loveya:

7. If you can pull off miracles
and have any fairy dust left, please send some of both my way. :P

I've deteriorated a lot in the last year. So I'm in an electric wheelchair and fighting to keep some of the use of my hands and legs.

I'm in a fight with my building management because my upstairs neighbor (loud and obnoxious at all hours, with a yappy little dog) complained about my friend bringing her dogs to visit. The dogs made some noise one afternoon when we left them alone for an hour. So they complained that I moved in the dogs and they want to get me evicted. Hypocrites! I've been a good neighbor and ignored all their noise for years. I should have complained and had them evicted years ago.

That's stress I don't need.

But that's enough complaining. :)

I'm looking for a new place to move to. Hopefully I'll be living someplace better soon, with a roommate and her dogs. :P

I'm enjoying looking for a new apartment. I just need to find one in a building that's wheelchair accessible, in a range I can afford. That's where the fairy dust comes in. So please sprinkle some of that liberally into an envelope and mail it this way.

8. I always have fairy dust for DUers!
Your upstairs neighbor sounds like a Class A Asshole. Hopefully, you will find a new place soon!

Hey, I know when you were getting your new computer, I (or someone here) also mentioned voice recognition software for it. Did you ever get that, or is that still on the wish list? Dragon Naturally Speaking is really good voice recognition software; I have several client who use it.

Anyway, fairy dust is wafting through the air toward you right now. :loveya:

2. My dear SeattleGirl!
Aw, sweetie!

I'm sorry you had such a lousy morning! But you know what? You're human, baby! And you know how to laugh at yourself...

Those are gifts!

Hope things get better, sweetie!

4. Hi ya, Peggy!
I learned a long time ago to laugh at myself over stuff like that. It IS a gift, isn't it?

BTW, I read the poem you posted last night. Another fine piece!

:loveya:  :loveya:

5. Welcome to the club!
I'm so uncoordinated and always bumping into things that my husband has threatened to wrap me in cotton and put me in a corner so I don't hurt myself....
Ohhhhh, yeah. :D

6. Ha! Sounds just like MrSG.
Though he also says he's going to get me to sign an avidavit, swearing that he did not beat the crap out of me, given the bruises I often have due to my clutziness!

9. I do that with some frequency - or I leave my mug sitting on the table
and have to go back for it.

10. I've lost count of how many times I pour coffee into my mug (without
spilling it), and realize after I get to work that it's still sitting on the counter at home.

11. ya know, my tai chi teacher says that people move too fast -
and that's probably why we spill and bump into things, come to think of it. Somehow rushing never has the correct effect of actually getting things done on time because things tend to go wrong when we rush.

Some mornings I just tell myself to slow down and enjoy what I'm doing, kind of like that X-Files episode where Scully sees time slow down. ;)

12. I don't doubt that at all.
Unfortunately, my speedometer seems to be stuck on "moves too fast". :)

14. I'm like that too.
That is why I don't rush until someone can see me. I actually save time not having to clean up the messes I make when I try to hurry.

I've tested this too. Trust me. It works out about the same amount of time you would have been late and you are less stressed doing it my way. ;)
