All I wanted to do was warm up my damn leftovers...
I know this is a bit of a story but I'd appreciate the feedback...

At lunchtime a week or so ago I made the mistake of taking my lunch at the same time as everyone else in the building. We have 2 Microwaves for 70 people. So, because of that there was one line for both of them. I had finally gotten to the front of the line wanting to simply re-heat my dinner (1-2 mins tops) from the nite before and of course the 2 people in front of me both had frozen meals that both took about 8-10 mins to cook.

I know I should of just said 'screw it' and waited, but I had some meetings later on and waiting til after them would of pushed my lunch til almost 2:45. So I waited while one of the people decided it was chat time on her cell while making her lunch. So she goes out of the room to talk (somewhat thoughtful) but then apparently forgets that she's cooking something and doesn't come back for a min or 2 after the beeper went off. I was tempted to just take it out, but her friend was sitting right next to said microwave and I didn't want to get caught. (Same premise as taking the mystery laundry out of the washer when the person comes into the room).

So she comes back in and I think 'oh good she's done' but she stirs it & then she puts it back in. Argh.x( Mind you 10 mins had already elapsed. She goes back out to talk on the phone again. I figure that microwave is a lost cause. I turn to the other one on the other side of the room and I see the guy pullin his meal out and so I start to cross the room to that one and this guy's buddy who hadn't been in the line comes up and starts putting his stuff in there.

So I say, "Excuse me" and I get nothing so I blurt out a "Hey!" and the room quiets and he turns around and sees me standing the middle of the room holding my food. Everyone's staring and all I wanted to do was warm my damn food up. He gets somewhat flustered and I try to back-pedal and tell him, "no go ahead" but he insists that I go ahead. As I walk out of the room to eat my finally warmed food I get all sorts of glares from the other people. A week has passed since and I'm still getting glares from people.

I'm probably making something out of the nothing, but I ask you, was that a shitty thing for me to have done??

1. I don't know if it was a shitty thing to do, but
anyone who gives dirty looks as a way to show disapproval is an immature asshole. I don't care if it's at the time of the incident or a week or a year later.

2. This place is soooooo much like HS...
that it really shouldn't of surprised me. I'm thinking next time I'll just full body tackle him. If I'm going to get glared at I might as well deserve it.

3. You should have said something to the rude person who left the
room to talk on her phone.

WTF is wrong with people?

I would have taken her food out and put mine in the microwave. Let her wait two minutes for you to heat your food up; you waited for her to come back.

4. Yeah I should of handled that a lot different then I did...
and normally I would of, not sure why I didn't. Trying to be nice I guess. Some good that did me. They are by no means important people to me, but I'd like to go cook my hot pocket without being scowled at...

6. Wait a second...You were reheating a hot pocket left over
form dinner the night before? Talk about being forced to scrounge.

5. I agree with this.
And I agree with Bertha also, glares are a way to manipulate without incrimination, assholes. Just ignore them, also, think positive thoughts about yourself. Let it go.
