So how was your day at work today?
Me, great since one piece of our equipment is a digital camera.

5. They were trying to get to that grass island they were heading for
I have to drive onto it often (much more so in the coming week(s) but I've never even dared to think of making it across the drainage ditch in any of my dying, rear wheel drive , sometimes only able to drive in 1st gear Astro Van. That's at least a 2 ton vehicle (guesstimating) with much larger, 4-wheel drive tires.

I had my back turned when the operator was making his move (I was working where the first photo was taken); if I had seen him attempting that I may have run over and tried to stop him. There's a certain path you have to take to make it up there without major fail. I almost had 2 fails getting up there through the proper way of driving there so I'm pretty well versed on how any vehicle needs to proceed to get there.

The rescue front-loader almost failed too; got caught with one tire in the ditch and wisely decided to make a 27 point turn to position himself..... after failing to tug the lift out with a rope for fuck's sake. The grass isn't too solid - it's rather mucky and loose - and the rescue almost failed there too because of it's weight.

He probably wasn't pleased that I whipped out the camera and started documenting it. I explained to the crew where they need to drive to get to the area they wanted to go to and also apologized for having my back turned and not seeing them try this foolish maneuver as I would have probably stopped them had I recognized where he was trying to drive, even in that massive machine.

His co-operator was much, much younger (I think younger than me but not too much) and he told me out of earshot of his boss that he thought it was a bad idea and saw the tire tracks near the entrance you need to use to get to that area. when they were near it.

I hope he learned a valuable lesson - speak up always even if you're the low man on the totem pole. I don't always do that and I usually learn that lesson the hard way as he did.

Those were electricians or something, not surveyors.

However, Dave watched the entire thing unfold (when we're digging bounds with a 3 man crew there's always one person resting while 2 are digging) and laughed away while Worker #3 and I dug a hole with our backs turned . I broke first to catch my breath and drink water and turned around to see what you see in photo 1. I called attention to it (and Dave told me he had watched the whole thing) and we all stopped work for a little while to watch (and take photos) the FAIL try to extricate itself. They finally gave up and left it pinned and buried until a state crew arrived to use the big guns to extricate it. It was stuck there almost half the day.

I have more photos (and mistaken videos that don't film the scene too much but the ground and Worker #3 from the chest down.

Dave was on fire today and I recruited Worker #3 to help me remember as much of what he said as we could (I was really busy today so I didn't have any time to text or even write down his choice quotes today). I'll try to update the blog tonight. I'll probably split it into many blogs so I can get some up tonight (I hope).

PS: Worker #3 loves this blog. :D

13. REALLY?
Then why do I only have 19 followers (2 private)? I hope they're sharing it around.

While discussing the blog with Worker #3 today (he really loves it; he breaks a rib every time and told me I'm a great writer and that he could never write like me. I informed him that Dave writes it with his mouth and actions and I just try to have the appropriate (now, leading) responses.

When I'm thinking of the blog and trying to lead him to water he almost never drinks. If I let him roam free he always returns.

It's kinda funny, but I heavily edited it. The director's cut is better.
