Lounge Travelers: Taking a Mexican Riviera cruise soon- any must sees?
There will be stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. I've got at least one excursion planned for each day, but I'll have time to do some wandering and shopping. So if there's some restaurant or site that I need to see, please lay it on me!

One thing that I MUST buy is some unusual (and good) tequila!

Thanks!

5. Well, I've no plans on buying anything other than tequila....

7. The cruise is on the Norweigan Star....
but it's also an RSVP charter (all gay). It's their standard 7 day run out of Los Angeles.

They just announced the entertainment lineup- DEBBIE REYNOLDS is going to do a show!

9. Definitely getting off the ship....
In Cabo, I plan on doing a guided kayak/snorkel trip, then shopping and such....

Mazatlan, I'm probably going to Stone Island beach for more swimming, sunning, drinking, and a little shopping...

Puerto Vallarta, it's likely going to be a zip-line excursion, a private party at a resort, and a sunset sail.

All subject to change, as they're not booked yet.

10. I love Cabo and Puerto Vallarta in particular
I would definetely snorkel in that blue water in Cabo! We took a little ride out to where the water flows through some rocks where the ocean and the gulf meet (it's right near Cabo). it's really pretty and kind of interesting.

oh and those beaches, simply gorgeous.

as we cruised out of Cabo, Dolphins swam alongside our ship --that was awesome! :applause:

Puerto Vallarta is a great city, don't know if you will get to spend any time walking around. it's old and in quite a setting too.

I was on that same cruise (but on Carnival) and for Mazatlan, I think I would go on the Guadalajara excursion rather than Stone Island if I had to do it again. Stone Island wasn't all that interesting, although the water was nice.

That Mexico cruise was a lot of fun. Having been on a Caribbean cruise out of Miami, I enjoyed the Mexico one a lot more and thought the people were more fun too --maybe because we were all Californians or something and more in my age group too.

The only thing is that last day on the cruise back to LA is COLD. Get all your swimming and sun before that. You will wake up the morning after you leave Cabo and you will be cold...brrr. It might be sunny, but it will be cold (we went in October).

11. I don't remember seeing an excursion to Guadalajara in the list...
on the Mazatlan stop, but I'll check again. Others have said that Mazatlan, in and of itself, is not all that interesting, so I was figuring that would be my "beach day" to just relax and unwind.

Cabo is actually the first stop on this itenerary- The cruise leaves PV and has two at sea days before getting back to LA.
