My son shocked me yesterday.

After more than five years in prison without a tattoo, he seemed to
have conquered that desire.

after a few days out, he said he and his oldest sister had talked
about getting their first tattoos together.

He had mentioned getting his name tattooed on the side of his torso.

After work he said I have something to show you, Dad.

Resigned to the news, I said, show me, from a distance.

27. I did that to my father once.

My older sister had recently gotten her fifth tattoo. My father made a comment about how he hoped I wouldn't get any and I started to look around suspiciously. He sighed and asked where. When I told him my lower back my little sister, who was only six at the time, was sitting next to me and lifted the back of my shirt. I have a birthmark there and when she saw it she said it was pretty so of course he thought she was referring to my tattoo.
