1. My dear NNadir...
Ah, it's been awhile since you did one of these, and I'm so glad to see it here tonight!

This is a very interesting painting, but I'm having a devil of a time figuring out just what's going on...

The lower arm has me completely confused!

The link to the museum shows some wonderful artwork in a gorgeous setting...

Thanks for posting, sweetie...

3. Well the pose is striking, and confusing a bit, but she is sitting in a lotus position
and she has bent her arm back - in a limber way - to clasp her own knee.

This young man is a remarkable artist I think, quite good, quite striking.

2. They both seem to be using a "duck & cover" method
I doubt either is having any fun at all.

4. This is lovely. Reminds me of Odd Nerdrum's work.

5. Well thanks for that. I wasn't at all familiar with Nerdrum but love this one which
recalls for me Delvaux:

It's the remove and the stare of the bather in the robe.

One of my favorite paintings of modern times is Delvaux's Phases of the Moon II:

I think it one of the most ironic paintings in the world.
