Why do some people enjoy conflicts between two other people?

For instance, long time ago I had this "friend" who really seemed to think it was real funny that this woman at work and I couldn't stand each other.

Why do people do that?

Some people get off witnessing strife in others as if somehow it make their lives seem less fucked up.

9. That's exactly what I was gonna say.
And it also makes me wonder why an equivalent word doesn't exist in English?

3. Because they're not imaginative enough...
...to appreciate the awesome clusterfucks that are possible in conflicts among three or more.

14. Dunno. Reminds me of GD and grave dancers and such.
Some people just like to see pain. Whether it's some transference issue, or some cold-hearted pleasure, I don't know. Don't care, either, it says all I need to know about them.
