17. Going to a military training facility with my 8 year old son

we are going to a Cub Scout activity at a Boy Scout activity, on a military training facility, formerly known as Ft. Chaffee (which was btw where Elvis was inducted and where they put the Cuban immigrants back in the 80's that started riots and gave Bill Clinton part of his hated reputation in this part of Arkansas)

It's going to be a fun day :silly: seriously we are going to do things all day and then have a campfire til 10 pm and learn all kinds of things I'm sure :P

20. Nothing much, just me and MG Jr.

Mr. MG is in New Orleans (the stinker), so Jr. and I might hang with grandma, maybe visit an indoor gym with a bunch of inflatable jungle gyms and bounce houses (it's supposed to rain). Mr. MG gets back late Saturday night, so I'm sure Sunday will be all video games, all the time with the kid. Which leaves me free to do laundry or something else equally fun.

He and his partner hit Pat O'Brien's last night, which was obviously his partner's choice, because Mr. MG considers it a touristy place. Still, from the sound of his voice this morning, they managed to do some damage there.

Tonight Mr. MG set his partner loose on Bourbon Street (dude is a big fan of the strip clubs) and he went solo to our favorite restaurant on Royal. Should I not gloat that the place didn't have any crawfish if I'm not there to partake?

That was hilarious.


Mine was the only Green Jello Thing and everybody liked it. I also took Curried Lentil Salad, a Weight Watcher favorite and it was very well received.

Sunday is shaping up to be a fun day!

Our architect and the son of Richard Neutra (a famous architect) will be coming over to photograph our house! (It's a custom house, and we are thrilled with it!)

And then late Sunday, I will be reading at a new open mic venue for poetry in Venice, CA! My teacher told me about it and I'm jazzed and nervous!

I'm used to reading in front of the Tuesday night crowd, but this is a new bunch...they don't know me, and it'll be different!

I'm still excited!

55. Yard cleanup and the rest of the taxes.

Pickup for yard waste is Monday so it has to be done this weekend or it'll be piled up for a couple of months. We seem to be the collection yard for the leaves others don't rake plus our garden was still producing when the town had their final pickup last fall.

I still have state and local taxes to do too.
