Poll question: Lounge Ladies - how often do you wear dresses (outside of work or formal occasions)?
Just curious - television and movies tend to show women wearing dresses much of the time. I personally wear dresses casually maybe about 5-10% of the time - mostly I wear slacks and jeans. But I might be the strange one here (well, I am but I mean about wearing dresses....).

So anyway, how often do you wear a dress just for everyday wear (meaning you're not going to a function or wedding or work)?

1. I wear dresses a lot for work, maybe sometimeI will wear a skirt
...for casual wear - visiting or shopping.

But NEVER a dress for just jaunting around--
always PANTS.

2. I should say never, but then that one odd rare time will pop up, so I'll just say very, very rarely.

5. I prefer casual cotton skirts or sundresses for summer, but I never
wear a dress for anything other than an event any other season.

7. When it's warm I usually wear a dress or skirt.
I hate pants. Winter here is long, though, and they're practical.

11. Never. I'd probably wear one for an EXTREMELY formal occasion
but I haven't been to a seriously formal event pretty much ever, so it's a totally theoretical thing.

14. My last job before I moved to OK
we were required to wear dresses, skirt ensembles or suits. Once I moved down here, I never took another high profile job and have worn pantyhose maybe five times in those 12 years. If I'm not wearing pants, I wear long hippie style skirts with sandals or boots depending on the time of year.

15. i mostly wear dresses
even around the house, I have a collection of "house coats" in light cotton and heavier fleece stuff for winter

I have soft jersey/t-shirt material skirts and the light cotton ones too, that I wear out most of the time.

in winter, I have longish wool skirts

I don't like the binding that slacks give me. hell I used to hike up mountains in short skirts, (excuse the TMI) and peeing in the wilderness is a LOT easier if you don't have to pull down pants and squat

just saying......

16. I pretty much only wear skirts/dresses on Sunday morning. On rare occasions I will
wear a skirt to work, and I do mean rare.

Like next Tuesday, when I am attending a luncheon so I will probably wear a skirt to work. My co workers will faint as they have never seen my ankles

17. I wore a skirt to high school once - and only once
I was working in the office that afternoon for some class or another. It was a great shock to friends and faculty and the sheer volume of remarks I got ensured that I would never do THAT again.

I do wear light summer dresses occasionally and enjoy them but I'm mostly a blue jeans gal. :hi:

23. I don't think I own a 'dress'
Though I have at least a dozen ankle-length cotton skirts. Those are even comfier than pants for summer.

24. dresses only? or do skirts count, too?
When it warms up, I wear skirts almost exclusively. From probably May through end of September. Dresses too. Winter and I'm in jeans, though if I could find a pair of boots I like, I'd probably wear skirts and boots in the winter.

I just like skirts.

28. The last time was when I was when I was in the Army.
Even then not very often.

I don't even own a dress, can't think of a reason I would wear one.

I have dress pants.

I love my blue jeans and my cargo pants.

29. Women on tv ALL wear skimpy dresses. WTF is up with that?!
I hear what you are saying.

Am I expected to strut around in a dress, just to prove that I'm a woman like all those women featured on TV wearing dresses?

If I appear in pants, will all TV watchers encircle their minds around those women in dresses?

30. When I wore dresses and shopped at department and clothing stores
A number of people mistook me for an employee on almost every occaison. As a result, I seldom wear dresses unless it is for a specific occaison.
