2. thats my theory
as I am in recovery my doc told me to eat it.....as smoking anything restricts blood vessels and slows/ complicates healing

3. You might want to up the amount of oil you use in the batter.
Not that I have any experience with this, mind you, but extra oil keeps the brownies a bit more moist. As I recall, the active ingredient in bud is oil carried--so as an added bonus it will improve the potency of the brownies a little bit.
